a stroll in central, my city’s cbd, taught me the story
behind chater house and hongkong land with mentions
of that nostalgic word taipan. there’s a fair bit of city hiking
to do there, so i bought a new pair of footwear. knowing
they’re made in argentina, have labels of two bunnies,
add to the comfort. a cup of joe in this town is different
from downunder because they put triple the water but
even so i’m quite certainly on caffeine high. so i walked
in these brand new shoes they call sneakers and strode.
i’ve been crazy about gourmet-travel shows lately, wondering
what makes a great, sincere, authentic host? they know
how to live life, that’s for sure, and i want to travel my city
with their fresh eyes and keen senses. finally got hold of
my favourite magazines, call it mission completed, i had
an urge to cry to read such thoughtfully pitched, well written
articles of meaningful people. talking about people
you never know whom you’ll bump into for the world is small.
someone’s face is a stronger hinge you remember by
than the name. if this not poetry, i don’t know what is.
